These are the faithful servants who minister in Mansfield.
The Staff at MUPC
We have a hierarchy of leadership as outlined in the New Testament which includes a pastor, worship pastor, elder board and deacon board. We work diligently to follow the scriptural model and operate within biblical guidelines.
Ric Bayless
Pastor
Pastor Ric Bayless leads our congregation as pastor. He was ordained by our members on August 1st, 2004, but has been preaching from the pulpit since November of 2002 and was youth pastor prior to his current call starting in 1992. Renee organizes our children ministries and is part of the Chief Musicians leading songs during our Sunday Worship services.Pastor Ric and Renee are bi-vocational. Ric has worked at the Mansfield School District since 1999. He has driven bus, coached middle school and high school sports, taught Vocational Business classes and is currently teaching middle school and high school Mathematics. Renee has worked as a para-professional at Mansfield School since 2013.
Ric and Renee were married in June of 1990. They have two adult children and an adorable granddaughter. Ric grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1985. Although Renee did not grow up in Mansfield, her family roots are deep in Mansfield’s history.
Les Lamkin
Music Pastor
This is a recently created position at the Mansfield United Protestant Church. After much prayer and by the Spirit‘s leading, Les has taken on the responsibility of shepherding our Chief Musicians. He brings over a quarter-century of experience, a thoughtful, intellectually systematic theology and a true servant’s heart to the ministry team and to worship. His wife, Pat, is a member of the Chief Musicians leading songs during our Sunday Worship services.
He and Pat have recently moved to Mansfield. Les is the middle school and high school English teacher and Music teacher at the Mansfield School District. He is also an English adjunct instructor at Wenatchee Valley College. Les and Pat are also entrepreneurs. Pat has a cleaning business and they are partners in a vacation property management company.

Elder Board
Our Elder Board assists in the shepherding ministry of the church. These men meet regularly with Pastor Ric holding him accountable to scripture, they also seek God’s guidance and pray for the ministry of the church. Each Elder has met qualifications outlined in scripture and has been recognized by our congregation as called to this office for life. There are currently three Elders serving our church.

Deacon Board
Our 6-member Deacon Board oversees the stewardship of the tithes and offerings given to the church. These members must meet qualifications outlined in scripture and then can be nominated for congregational vote during our Annual Business meeting in January. Deacons serve a two-year term as to stagger the expiration of terms among board members. The Deacon Board meets the second Wednesday of every month.
Greg Woodworth is currently our Chair and Steve Bruntlett is Vice-Chair.
